Seasonal Celebrations at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari
There’s ALWAYS something special going on at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari! No matter the time of year, you’ll find extra seasonal celebrations the whole family can enjoy. I timed my park visits last season so I could hit all the big ones: Holidays in the Sky, Kids World & Happy Halloween Weekends.
Holidays in the Sky
This was my first time ever seeing a drone show and I absolutely loved it! Holidays in the Sky is a visual journey with 500 lighted drones, fireworks and music that takes the viewer through all the holidays. It’s also the first drone show that includes audience participation – vote on the shows final display each day. I was excited to see my vote won the night I attended.
Kids will love the dance party before the drone show in the party plaza!
Holidays in the Sky is included with theme park admission, but there are also some extra perks you can add on to your ticket. Upgrade for the dessert party that includes premier seating and snacks. Or upgrade for the dessert party + tour that includes front of the line access on rides, an all day digital photo pass and premium seating at Holidays in the Sky.
Holidays in the Sky runs June 21st – August 3rd, 2025.
Kids World
Looking for weekend fun after the kids have gone back to school? Kids World is a perfect activity for that! The whole park transforms into a kid centered experience with magic shows, special food and treats, entertainment and more.
Since I don’t have any kiddos myself, I brought along my friend Jenny, her husband Matt and their 10-year-old daughter Cora, who picked everything we did for the day.
The Wild and Wacky Magic Show was a HUGE hit with Cora, who gave it her stamp of approval. We also checked out Matt Jergens and The Out of Hand Juggling Show, and met some of our favorite Holiday World mascots (Holidog & Kitty Claws).
The dive show also took place during Kids World weekends, which is a classic Holiday World must-do anytime you visit the park and the top thing on Cora’s Kids World weekend list.
At time of publication, Kids World dates have not been announced for 2025.
Happy Halloween Weekends
Spooky season might just be my favorite time in the park! All the seasonal decorations, people dressed up in costumes, fall treats and Halloween themed extra attractions.
Carnival of Chaos offered up some mild spooks and a maze of mirrors that we definitely had a hard time figuring out how to escape! This one does include some strobe lights, so beware of those and the jump scares throughout the attraction.
Kitty’s 3D Candy Farm, a glow-in-the-dark adventure, was a new attraction in 2024. What really put it over the top was the candy tumbler near the end! This is one you just have to see and experience for yourself, but my mom, husband and I all enjoyed it and I’m positive you will too.
The 12 acre corn maze was one of my favorite Happy Halloween Weekend attractions – it had been a really long time since I’d been to a corn maze and just when you thought you had it figured out, the Good Gravy! Themed layout had other ideas. You’ll also get pretty cool views of The Voyage and Thunderbird from inside the maze, which makes the perfect backdrop for your Instagram photos.
Also a bonus for the thrill seekers – the sun sets much earlier during October and you can get night rides on the roller coasters! I was able to attend Friday Night Live! on National Roller Coaster Day, rode The Voyage trimless and it was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. Flying through the woods in the dark with only the moon shining through the trees? You’ll come off that ride with your heart pounding, full of adrenaline and want to do it all over again.
Happy Halloween weekends begin Sept. 20 and run through Oct. 26.
Whatever the season, you will find something extra to do at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari!
