Nostalgic Foodie Fare at Holiday World!

Part of the fun of visiting your favorite theme park is the food! Like many other parks, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari have some nostalgic menu items that I crave and have to get every time I visit the park. Are any of these on your must eat and drink list when you visit Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari?

Udderly Blue Ice Cream Cone

Is there anything more iconic than the blue raspberry ice cream cone at Udderly Blue? When I think of food at Holiday World, this one always comes to mind first! Located in the 4th of July section of the park, this sweet treat has been delighting me AND turning my tongue blue since childhood. What better way to cool off than with soft serve? Go for a classic all blue cone or get twisted with wild cherry.

Santa’s Merry Marketplace
This festive spot has everything – and I do mean everything! The entire family can eat here and there are vegetarian options as well. Santa’s Merry Marketplace reminds me of a Christmas themed food hall where you can eat by a fireplace, even in the middle of summer. We love this spot because of the wide variety on the menu – my parents got pizza, my husband ordered orange chicken and I got a spicy chicken sandwich. All from the same place! This is also a great spot to cool down since seating is indoors and in air conditioning.

Goblin Burgers

You really can’t go wrong with a burger and this is one of the best theme park burgers around. Goblin Burgers is located in the Halloween section of the park, right across from Scarecrow Scrambler – you can’t miss the bright orange and purple building! I enjoy their classic cheeseburger with a side of garlic cheese curds, but you can also pick up a pork tenderloin here too and that’s a classic Indiana culinary staple.

Sweet Stuff

I bet you thought you could only get Dole Whip at Disney, am I right? Located right across from the Hoosier Celebration theater in the 4th of July section of the park, Sweet Stuff will cure your Dole Whip craving. It’s plant based, vegan and gluten free so anyone can enjoy. Try the classic pineapple flavor or get strawberry like I did! You can also get a swirl or if you’re fancy, enjoy a float with orange juice and Starry – I am definitely getting that my next visit to Holiday World.

Sam’s Smokehouse

Spending the day in Splashin’ Safari and don’t want to head into the main park for your meal? There are a lot of different options, but Sam’s Smokehouse is my go-to. I love a good BBQ and usually opt for the pulled pork platter. You get a choice of sauce (there are 4 options to choose from – Applewood Smoked Pepper, Carolina Gold, KC Style and Texas Style) and a variety of ways to build your plate!

The Perky Turkey
Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is amazing because you can get free soft drinks all day long at an Oasis station, but sometimes you’re just in the mood for coffee or boba. The Perky Turkey is a cute little coffee shop in the Thanksgiving section of the park and I LOVE their boba lemonades. Add a flavor shot (I went with blue raspberry and it was oh-so-tart) and some popping boba just for fun.

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari are always adding new foods each season. Be sure to check out their 2025 additions when they open for the season on May 10th!
