The Best Murals in Bloomington, Indiana

Posted on

Lots of new public art has popped up in my former college town – it’s been ten years since I lived in B-town (where did the time go??) and I only remember a few murals then. Lots have been painted all over town now, especially along the B-Line Trail.

I drove through on my way to southern Indiana and stopped for a few hours to find some of my favorites and have rounded those up for you in this post! If you have a couple days in the area and want to explore more, be sure to check this post out for even more than what I had time to locate.

Bloomington Mural (this photo was taken a couple years ago and it now has a Black Lives Matter overlay). Located at The People’s Park at 501 E. Kirkwood. Artist: Eva Allen.
This piece of art is located at Hyatt Place, 217 W. Kirkwood.
This one is right next to the above photo!
Artisan Alley, 222 W. 2nd. There are several others nearby as well!
Love This City, located at Mother Bears Pizza, 1428 E. 3rd. Artist: Eva Allen.
Golden Girls Mural. Located at The Atlas Ballroom, 209 S. College Ave.
“The Bee-Line”, located at 921 S. Morton. Artist: Lily Holliden.
This is a cool fence area along the B-Line Trail. Just down the street from Hyatt Place.
Graduate Hotel, located at 210 E. Kirkwood. Artist: Nina Chanel Abney.

Many of these are all within walking distance of each other and my advice would be to find a spot to park (parking is generally hard to find and not free in Bloomington), then do a fun mural tour. Be sure to stop in some of the amazing restaurants B-town has to offer. Some of my personal favorites include Smoke on the Square, FarmBloomington, The Irish Lion and Trojan Horse.

Let me know in the comments where your favorites are and which ones I should add next time I drive through Bloomington, Indiana!
